Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 9.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 872,282 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,183 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,931 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 880,330 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 9.6% compared to the previous day.
Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 24.8% of total production, while imported coal and wind power plants contributed 16.8% and 16.5%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,756 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,575 megawatt-hours.
