Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 9.6% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 782,322 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,001 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,304 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 786,286 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 9.5% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 25.7% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite plants contributed 23.3% and 13%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 10,062 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 6,358 megawatt-hours.
