Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye decreased by 9.04% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 857,242 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,127 megawatt-hours at 14.00 local time (1100 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,483 megawatt-hours at 06.00 local time (0300 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 856,119 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 9.11% decrease compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 22.6% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.8% while lignite comprised 15.4%.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 15,398 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,635 megawatt-hours.
