Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 9% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 767,727 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 37,849 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,594 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 776,764 megawatt-hours on Sunday, decreasing about 8.4% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 27% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite plants contributed 21.3% and 12.5%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,366 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 329 megawatt-hours.
