Türkiye's daily power consumption down 6.2% on Feb. 7

- Electricity exports amount to 12,165 megawatt-hours and imports total 4,165 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 6.2% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 952,728 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,875 megawatt-hours at 12 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,757 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 960,743 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of 6% compared to Friday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 23.8% of total generation, while dammed hydro and wind plants contributed 19.5% and 13.8%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,165 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,165 megawatt-hours.
