Turkiye's daily power consumption down 5.76% on Feb. 26

- Electricity exports amount to 16,289 megawatt-hours and imports total 11,027 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye decreased by 5.76% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 888,162 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,227 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,150 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 893,424 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking an drop of 5.15% compared to Friday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 25.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.7% and lignite plants comprised 15.4%.

On Saturday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 16,289 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 11,027 megawatt-hours.
