Türkiye's daily power consumption down 5.5% on Nov. 8

- Electricity exports amount to 8,493 megawatt-hours and imports total 6,794 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 5.5% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 867,457 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,846 megawatt-hours at 19:00 local time (1600) GMT, data from TEİAŞ showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,040 megawatt-hours at 05:00 local time (0200) GMT.

Electricity production amounted to 869,167 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a fall of 5.6% compared to Friday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 27.1% of total generation, while natural gas and lignite contributed 26.4% and 12.5%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 8,493 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 6,794 megawatt-hours.
