Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 5.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 915,950 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,666 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,870 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 917,859 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a fall of about 5.6% compared to Saturday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for 21.8% of total generation, while natural gas and solar plants contributed 21.1% and 14.1%, respectively.
On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 5,257 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,348 megawatt-hours.
