Turkiye's daily power consumption down 5.03% on Jan. 15

- Electricity exports amount to 16,511 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 18,089 megawatt-hours

Turkiye's daily electricity consumption decreased by 5.03% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 936,179 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 45,012 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,874 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 934,616 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 5.06% decrease compared to Friday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.2% while lignite plants comprised 14.6%.

On Saturday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 16,511 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 18,089 megawatt-hours.
