Turkiye's daily power consumption down 4.5% on Feb. 19

- Electricity exports amount to 15,419 megawatt-hours and imports total 16,977 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye declined by 4.5% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 891,538 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 42,047 megawatt-hours at 11.00 local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,376 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 889,980 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of 4.5% compared to Friday.

Electricity production from natural gas constituted 24.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.8% while lignite plants comprised 15.5%.

On Saturday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 15,419 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,977 megawatt-hours.
