Türkiye's daily power consumption down 4.4% on March 7

- Electricity exports amount to 12,411 megawatt-hours and imports total 4,445 megawatt-hours

​​​​​Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 4.4% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 962,843 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Sunday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,425 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 35,119 megawatt-hours at 4 a.m. local time (0100 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 970,761 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a decrease of 1.9% compared to Friday.

Electricity production from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 26.4% of total generation, while wind and imported coal plants contributed 16.3% and 15.5%, respectively.

On Saturday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,411 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,445 megawatt-hours.
