Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 3% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,132,553 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 52,703 megawatt-hours at 3 p.m. local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 38,096 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,150,358 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a fall of about 0.2% compared to Wednesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for 29.5% of total generation, while imported coal and hydropower plants contributed 20.4% and 13%, respectively.
On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 20,539 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,807 megawatt-hours.
