Daily electricity consumption in Turkiye decreased by 2% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 988,324 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 47,668 megawatt-hours at 11.00 local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,167 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 986,341 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 2.1% decrease compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 33.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 19.9 % while lignite plants comprised 13.1%.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 14,447 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 16,557 megawatt-hours.
