Türkiye's daily power consumption down 1.9% on Feb. 4

- Electricity exports amount to 12,307 megawatt-hours and imports total 4,711 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 1.9% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,017,182 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,273 megawatt-hours at 10 a.m. local time (0700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,052 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,024,778 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a decrease of 1.9% compared to Tuesday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 22.3% of total generation, while natural gas and dam-based hydropower plants contributed 18.6% and 15.7%, respectively.

On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,307 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 4,711 megawatt-hours.
