Türkiye's daily power consumption down 1.81% on Dec. 29

- Electricity exports amount to 3,532 megawatt-hours and imports total 24,786 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.81% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 868,488 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,865 megawatt-hours at 7 p.m. local time (1600 GMT), data from TEIAS showed.

The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,170 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 847,234 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 2.25% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 25% of total generation, while hydroelectricity plants and natural gas plants contributed 21.7% and 15.5%, respectively.

On Friday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 3,532 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 24,786 megawatt-hours.
