Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 17.2% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 804,928 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 36,810 megawatt-hours at 01.00 a.m. local time (2200 GMT on Thursday), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 28,108 megawatt-hours at 07.00 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 795,970 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a decrease of 17.3% compared to Thursday.
Electricity production from imported coal plants constituted 19.3% of total generation, while hydro power plants and natural gas power plants contributed 17.2% and 15.3%, respectively.
On Friday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 9,341 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 18,298 megawatt-hours.
