Türkiye's daily power consumption down 1.57% on March 23

- Electricity exports amount to 4,644 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,644 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by 1.57% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 871,888 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,752 megawatt-hours at 12.00 p.m. local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,600 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 858,622 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a decrease of 1.65% compared to Wednesday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 25.3% of total generation, while imported coal and hydroelectricity power plants contributed 21.4% and 13.7%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country's electricity exports amounted to 4,644 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 17,445 megawatt-hours.
