Türkiye's daily power consumption down 1.5% on Oct.1

- Electricity exports amount to 20,316 megawatt-hours and imports total 1,435 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased 1.5% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 951,343 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,935 megawatt-hours at 11 a.m. local time (0800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,667 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 970,254 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a fall of about 1.5% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from wind power plants accounted for around 24.5% of total generation, while hydroelectric power plants and imported coal plants contributed 21.3% and 16.1%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 20,316 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,435 megawatt-hours.
