Türkiye's daily power consumption down 13.9% on March 20

- Electricity exports amount to 14,815 megawatt-hours and imports total 2,481 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 13.9% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 705,731 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 32,798 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 25,809 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 717,869 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of about 13.4% compared to the previous day.

Electricity generation from dam-based hydropower plants accounted for around 28.4% of total production, while wind plants and lignite coal contributed 22.5% and 12.7%, respectively.

On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 14,815 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,481 megawatt-hours.
