Türkiye's daily power consumption down 13.8% on March 19

- Electricity exports amount to 12,486 megawatt-hours and imports total 3,779 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 13.8% on Thursday compared to the previous day, totaling 819,718 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 38,504 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,630 megawatt-hours at 8 a.m. local time (0500 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 829,447 megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a fall of about 13.6% compared to the previous day.

Electricity generation from wind energy accounted for around 27.7% of total production, while dam-based hydropower plants and lignite coal contributed 24.9% and 11.5%, respectively.

On Thursday, the country's electricity exports totaled 12,486 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 2,689 megawatt-hours.
