Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye increased by around 13.8% on Monday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,009,353 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,097 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,148 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,021,389 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a rise of 13.6% compared to Sunday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 23.7% of total generation, while imported coal and wind energy plants contributed 23.1% and 19.7%, respectively.
On Monday, the country's electricity exports totaled 13,648 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,655 megawatt-hours.
