Türkiye's daily power consumption down 11.5% on March 8

Electricity exports amount to 13,445 megawatt-hours and imports total 3,212 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 11.5% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 852,573 megawatt-hours, according to official figures from the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,392 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), TEIAS data showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 32,306 megawatt-hours at 9 a.m. local time (0600 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 862,766 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of about 11.4% compared to the previous day.

Electricity generation from hydropower plants accounted for around 23.6% of total production, while solar and wind plants contributed 15.9% and 15.8%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 13,445 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,212 megawatt-hours.
