Türkiye's daily power consumption down 1.1% on Dec. 19

- Electricity exports amount to 7,231 megawatt-hours and imports total 364 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 1.1% on Friday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,017,776 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Saturday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,531 megawatt-hours at 10 a.m. local time (0700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 34,134 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 1,024,733 megawatt-hours on Friday, marking a fall of 1.2% compared to Thursday.

Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 31.4% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 23.5% and 12%, respectively.

On Friday, the country's electricity exports totaled 7,231 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 364 megawatt-hours.
