Türkiye's daily power consumption down 10.2% on Feb. 8

- Electricity exports amount to 13,677 megawatt-hours and imports total 3,107 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 10.2% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 855,442 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,653 megawatt-hours at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,917 megawatt-hours at 6 a.m. local time (0300 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 866,059 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of 9.8% compared to Saturday.

Electricity production from imported coal plants accounted for around 24.5% of total generation, while run-of-river hydroelectric and lignite plants contributed 18.8% and 13.5%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 13,677 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 3,107 megawatt-hours.
