Türkiye's daily power consumption down 10.1% on Aug. 30

- Electricity exports amount to 24,657 megawatt-hours and imports total 1,463 megawatt-hours

Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased by around 10.1% on Sunday compared to the previous day, totaling 918,613 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Monday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 44,208 megawatt-hours at 9 p.m. local time (1800 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 32,764 megawatt-hours at 7 a.m. local time (0400 GMT).

Electricity production amounted to 941,860 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a decrease of about 9.6% compared to the previous day.

Electricity production from dammed hydro plants accounted for around 22.1% of total generation, while imported coal and wind contributed 19% and 17%, respectively.

On Sunday, the country's electricity exports totaled 24,657 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,463 megawatt-hours.
