Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 0.8% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,024,840 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,443 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,861 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,033,129 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a decrease of 0.8% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 28.7% of total generation, while imported coal and hydropower contributed 23.2% and 11%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,240 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 952 megawatt-hours.
