Daily electricity consumption in Türkiye decreased around 0.7% on Wednesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,003,186 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) released on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 48,364 megawatt-hours at 6 p.m. local time (1500 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 33,040 megawatt-hours at 5 a.m. local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,011,265 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a fall of 0.5% compared to Tuesday.
Electricity production from natural gas plants accounted for around 30.6% of total generation, while imported coal and lignite plants contributed 22.8% and 11.8%, respectively.
On Wednesday, the country's electricity exports totaled 9,181 megawatt-hours, while imports amounted to 1,134 megawatt-hours.
