Turkey's electricity consumption increased by around 5.55% in November, compared to the same month of 2020, according to the latest data released by Turkey's Energy and Natural Resources Ministry.
The country's power consumption reached 26.54 billion kilowatt-hours last month while electricity production also increased by 4.36% to 26.59 billion kilowatt-hours compared to November 2020.
Out of November's total production, hydro plants generated 11.65% while 32.4% was derived from natural gas and 20.6% from imported coal.
The share of local coal plants in electricity generation was 16.3%. Wind plants generated 9.79% and the remaining share came from geothermal, fuel oil and biogas plants.
Last month, Turkey's electricity imports from neighboring countries increased by around 877% to 298.22 million kilowatt-hours compared to 30.52 million kilowatt-hours in November 2020.
Electricity exports decreased by around 5% to 354.69 million kilowatt-hours.
Turkey's total installed power capacity reached 99.05 gigawatts as at the end of October, according to official figures.
