Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.8% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 873,323 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 40,788 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,897 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 881,256 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 3.3% increase from Monday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.1% of total electricity consumption, wind plants contributed 15.4% while lignite plants comprised 13.5%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 15,882 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,089 megawatt-hours.
