Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 7.64% to 701,674 megawatt-hours on Monday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 33,762 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 23,764 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 695,445 megawatt-hours on Monday with a 7.45% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 211,794 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river hydroelectricity and imported coal plants followed with 117,397 megawatt-hours and 103,641 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 4,590 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10,819 megawatt-hours.
