Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 7.5% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 1,032,504 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 50,016 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time (1200 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 33,940 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time (0400 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 1,038,852 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 8.1% increase from Monday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 41.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 17.6% while lignite plants comprised 11.6%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,693 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,448 megawatt-hours.
