Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 5.26% to 484,702 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 25,517 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 16,107 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 486,892 megawatt-hours on Tuesday with a 4.77% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 169,673 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river and lignite plants followed with 96,477 megawatt-hours and 75,524 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 3,652 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 1,462 megawatt-hours.
