Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 5% on Saturday compared to the previous day, totaling 851,772 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 39,339 megawatt-hours at 21.00 local time on Saturday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was at its lowest at 28,212 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 863,388 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 5% increase from Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 29.2% of total electricity consumption, wind plants held a 17.8% while lignite plants comprised 13.9%.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,628 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,081 megawatt-hours.
