Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased on Wednesday by 4.4% compared to the previous day to reach 906,240 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 42,150 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 30,809 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 907,483 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 4.2% increase compared to the previous day.
While electricity production from natural gas constituted 25.8% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Wednesday, imported coal held a share of 22.8% and the share of hydroelectricity power plants was 21.5%.
On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,131 megawatt-hours, while imports reached 3,888 megawatt-hours.
