Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 4.36% on Saturday compared to the previous day to reach 650,480 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Sunday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time, reaching 31,340 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 21,506 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 656,215 megawatt-hours on Saturday, marking a 4.41% increase from Friday.
Turkey's electricity production from hydroelectricity plants constituted 17.9% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants comprised 17%, while lignite plants held a 16.9% share.
On Saturday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,278 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 11,994 megawatt-hours.
