Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 4,5% on Friday compared to the previous day to reach 759,674 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 36,607 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,047 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.
Electricity production reached 767,365 megawatt-hours on Friday marking a 4,4% increase compared to the previous day.
While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 30,93% of total electricity consumption on Friday, imported coal plants held a 22,25% share while hydroelectricity plants comprised 19,73%.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,204 megawatt-hours while imports reached 2,513 megawatt-hours.
