Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3.8% on Sunday compared to the previous day to reach 675,218 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Monday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time, reaching 32,482 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 22,263 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Electricity production amounted to 679,135 megawatt-hours on Sunday, marking a 3.5% increase from Saturday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 21.4% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity plants comprised 16.7%, while imported coal plants held a 16.5% share.
On Sunday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,712 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 4,869 megawatt-hours.
