Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3.5% to 781,509 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 22.00 local time with 36,170 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,433 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.
Total electricity production reached 774,974 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking an 4% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 188,056 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity and natural gas plants followed with 150,119 megawatt-hours and 147,637 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 1,908 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 8,442 megawatt-hours.
