Turkey's daily power consumption up 3.4% on Oct. 6

- Electricity exports amount to 10,284 megawatt-hours while imports reach 3,166 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3.4% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 826,919 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 19.00 local time with 39,500 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,760 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 834,037 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 3.36% increase compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 31.86% of total electricity consumption on Tuesday, hydropower plants held a 22.24% share while imported coal plants comprised 20.48%.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 10,284 megawatt-hours while imports reached 3,166 megawatt-hours.
