Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3.16% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 879,847 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 41,071 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 30,035 megawatt-hours at 04.00 local time (0100 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 879,268 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 3.09% increase compared to Monday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 36.6% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 21.9% while lignite comprised 13.5%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,394 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 7,455 megawatt-hours.
