Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 3.08% on Tuesday compared to the previous day, totaling 924,993 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 43,705 megawatt-hours at 12.00 local time (0900 GMT), data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to the lowest level of 31,084 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time (0200 GMT).
Electricity production amounted to 927,891 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 3.02% increase compared to Monday.
Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 34.5% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants contributed 20.6% while lignite plants comprised 14.3%.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 11,447 megawatt-hours and imports totaled 8,979 megawatt-hours.
