Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.84% to 903,059 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time with 42,676 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 29,747 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 898,431 megawatt-hours on Tuesday with a 2.94% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from imported coal plants at 207,802 megawatt-hours. Hydroelectricity plants and natural gas plants followed with 198,649 megawatt-hours and 173,527 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 6,247 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 10,875 megawatt-hours.
