Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2,75% to 817,765 megawatt-hours on Thursday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 38,469 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 28,153 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 818,213 megawatt-hours on Thursday with a 2.64% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 201,538 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and natural gas plants followed with 196,337 megawatt-hours and 117,750 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,712 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 5,264 megawatt-hours.
