Turkey's daily power consumption up 2.6% on April 14

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 5,998 megawatt-hours, while imports total 3,826 megawatt-hours on Tuesday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.6% to 629,438 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 21.00 local time with 30,824 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 22,303 megawatt-hours at 08.00 local time.

Total electricity production reached 631,609 megawatt-hours on Tuesday with a 3.6% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 205,957 megawatt-hours. Run-of-river hydroelectricity and imported coal plants followed with 96,599 megawatt-hours and 88,378 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 5,998 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,826 megawatt-hours.
