Turkey's daily power consumption up 2.53% on July 8

- Electricity exports amount to 14,563 megawatt-hours, while imports total 3,224 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.53% on Thursday compared to the previous day, reaching 1,044,131 million megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Friday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 49,728 megawatt-hours at 15.00 local time on Thursday, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage was at its lowest at 34,064 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 1,032,633 million megawatt-hours on Thursday, marking a 0.29% increase from Wednesday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 37.1% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 15.2% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 12.7%.

On Thursday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,563 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 3,224 megawatt-hours.
