Turkey's daily power consumption up 2.5% on Nov. 25

- Electricity exports amount to 14,252 megawatt-hours, while imports total 75 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.5% on Wednesday compared to the previous day to reach 881,773 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Thursday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 18.00 local time, reaching 42,751 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,927 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 895,950 megawatt-hours on Wednesday, marking a 2.4% increase compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 31.7% of total electricity consumption, imported coal plants held a 20.7% share while wind plants comprised 17%.

On Wednesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 14,252 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 75 megawatt-hours.
