Turkey's daily power consumption up 2.46% on Sept. 22

- Electricity exports amount to 8,928 megawatt-hours while imports reach 309 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.46% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 855,180 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 40,713 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 29,719 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production reached 863,799 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.48% increase compared to the previous day.

While Turkey's electricity production from natural gas constituted 32.06% of total electricity consumption on Tuesday, imported coal plants held a 21.93% share while hydroelectricity power plants comprised 19.22%.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,928 megawatt-hours while imports reached 309 megawatt-hours.
