Turkey's daily power consumption up 2.4% on March 24

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 9,264 megawatt-hours, while imports total 15,985 megawatt-hours on Tuesday

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.4% to 760,480 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 20.00 local time with 35,539 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 26,860 megawatt-hours at 05.00 local time.

Total electricity production reached 753,759 megawatt-hours on Tuesday with a 2.4% increase compared to the previous day.

The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 215,012 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and run-of-river hydroelectricity plants followed with 152,940 megawatt-hours and 101,100 megawatt-hours, respectively.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,264 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 15,985 megawatt-hours.
