Turkey's daily power consumption up 2.3 % on Sept. 1

- Turkey's electricity exports amount to 9,246 megawatt-hours while imports reach 2,200 megawatt-hours

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.3% on Tuesday compared to the previous day to reach 943,101 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Wednesday.

Electricity production reached 950,147 megawatt-hours on Tuesday, marking a 2.6% increase compared to the previous day.

Hourly power consumption peaked at 17.00 local time with 44,601 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 31,982 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

While electricity production from natural gas constituted 29.56% of total electricity consumption in Turkey on Tuesday, hydro power plants held a 24.48% share while imported coal plants comprised 21.33%.

On Tuesday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 9,246 megawatt-hours while imports reached 2,200 megawatt-hours.
