Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 2.27% to 884,206 megawatt-hours on Friday, according to official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Saturday.
Hourly power consumption peaked at 12.00 local time with 42,212 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest point of 28,965 megawatt-hours at 05.00.
Total electricity production reached 883,014 megawatt-hours on Friday with a 2.90% increase compared to the previous day.
The majority of the output came from hydroelectricity plants at 192,587 megawatt-hours. Imported coal and natural gas plants followed with 191,539 megawatt-hours and 177,745 megawatt-hours, respectively.
On Friday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,310 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 9,502 megawatt-hours.
